Hmmm.....a festival you say....
It was a cold winter's morn when the two brothers, Bjoern and Bjoern, were caught in a cave in while hunting through the Shiverpeaks. Although they knew rescue would come, they were distraught to find they only had a single keg of hunter's ale, enough for only a mere day, and help would take more than a week to arrive! Knowing the darkness of sobriety that was to come, the two brothers toasted their health and drank away. The next morning, they were amazed; the keg was still full! It was a miracle, succor of the Bear himself! Each day, they drowned themselves in fermented bliss, and each day they found the keg renewed. On the eighth day, their fellow hunters dug them out, and they all toasted the glory of Bear with another round.
To this day, the tale is told, and all Norn commemorate Bear's compassion the only way possible; challenging each other to drinking competitions.
For the entire week, players can gather together in Gunner's Hold, helping the Norn stockpile ale by donating all the alcohol in their possession. In exchange, they earn time (via tokens) partying with the Norn, getting trashed, singing songs, and enjoying the hospitality of the Great Bear. Add in a few inebriated quests, and I'd call it a festival.

Thing about making it into a weekend event is that it'd only benefit those who already had 10000 points stockpiled because the alcohol prices would skyrocket that weekend so buying alcohol during it would be infeasible for regular or even fairly hardcore players to acquire the alcohol during the event.

So, outside of official sanction, what's the difference between something like this and using an autoclicker?
I don't think it's a bad idea, but people seem to be morally opposed to the latter, whereas the former is apparently almost universally supported.

Purely for the official sanction. An auto clicker is technically against the EULA, and therefore risking a ban. This is a way to give people a way to bot drunkard without the bot and thereby riskign no ban.
TBH, this is THE BEST idea i have seen in sardelac in a long time. /signed 5305 times (the amount of minutes i still have to spend drunk!)

Meh, it'd balance out times like now, with the glut of ToT bags, when the price of alcohol is in the toilet.
If alcohol dropped during the event (like Talk Like a Pirate Weekend), people could choose between spending their time drinking or farming alcohol to sell to drinkers.
Doesn't seem so unfair to me. There've been Nine Ring events where I was broke and didn't get to benefit as much as I'd like.

How about a pve skill that increases your spellcasting ability in some way wile drunk? Melee characters get drunken master, so why not add a "Bottle fairy" skill that gives you spells armor penetration or faster casting?

90% (probably more) of incorrigible ale hounds used autoclicker for their title anyways, so might aswell.

/signed. Best idea I think ive ever seen. However it works (either by tokens or by "auto" drinking any available drink in your inventory as its needed, I dont care!!
Other ideas for it such as bartender, or even social games would be a bargain

BUT, might want to make the alch it sells more expensive than 100g/point, as sweets bought in factions are 200g/point, plus would encourage people to get their alch elsewhere too. That seems fairer to the people who have got it through other methods than just buying from an NPC.

Advice for life.
On topic: I'd pay for that service. Maybe make it a little bit more though, as more a a gold sink because its not really fair to those who got it through mindless double clicking.

The thing is, you can't actually get banned for autoclicking if you aren't being a complete idiot about it. I'm just trying to ascertain that people don't have any moral opposition to something previously labeled as "botting."

I like the idea.....mass clicking stinks whatever title it is for. Also like someone else noted...casters don't really get the advantages that physical classes get from playing drunk.

Clarify plz....I think most ppl will agree that an auto clicker is not really=botting, so in turn don't feel the same way about it. Imo there is a justified moral opposition to botting, but only bots that are complex enough to give unwarranted advantages.

I don't really mind a new system being unfair to those who got the title the hard way.
Some titles deserve respect as they take genuine effort and possibly even skill.
Then there are others that just demand a high boredom threshold Like legendary defender and of course Drunkenness.
I guess I am saying just because some people were stupid enough to do something that time consuming and deadly boring does not mean we never change it for something better.

While i agree somewhat for those of you who /notsigned, i must say that Drunkard is definitely annoying with having to remember to click more drinks every minute to stay drunk. Another idea would be to have a Drunkard weekend like someone suggested above, where the cap on drunken level is raised to like 10 minutes etc. Example, if I drank 3 Spiked Eggnogs, i would definitely be drunk for longer than 5 minutes, so why not increase the length of drunkenness?
The bar idea is a good compromise though. However, i think that the bar shouldnt be in EOTN, as it would have to be a core implementation. Make a bar in LA, Kamadan, KC(already one in KC, -->Barkeep Mehoro) and only let characters that have fully matured (level 20) etc.
/signed overall
